Dr Fene Osakwe, a Nigerian-born cybersecurity expert, was honoured with the Technology Impact Award at the African Achievers Awards held at the Palace of Westminster, UK Parliament. His recognition marked the inaugural inclusion of a Technology category at the ceremony and solidified his standing as a global leader in digital security.

This award builds on his historic win as the first African Cyber Personality of the Year at the 2025 Cyber Security Awards in the UK, an accolade previously unseen in the continent’s history . President Bola Tinubu personally applauded Osakwe, highlighting him as an exemplar of Nigerian ingenuity and youth leadership on the international stage.
As Chairman of the Lagos State Cybersecurity Advisory Board, Osakwe pioneered Nigeria’s first state-led cybersecurity awareness month in October 2024, collaborating with local authorities to promote data safety and public literacy. His thought leadership extends into authorship contributions for Forbes and global conference appearances, as well as membership in prestigious bodies such as the Forbes Technology Council and the EC‑Council Global Advisory Board on Penetration Testing .
Dr Osakwe is committed to mentorship and philanthropy. He speaks regularly at universities across four continents and runs the Fene Osakwe Foundation, which supports scholarships for children from single-mother households and provides financial relief to struggling families in Nigeria.
