American Rappers Should Learn from Business-Smart Nigerian Artistes – Kanye West

Controversial American rapper Kanye West has sparked debate once again, claiming that most US artists lack business acumen and should take lessons from Nigerians, Jews, Chinese, and Indians on financial intelligence and self-sufficiency.

Speaking during an interview with DJ Akademiks, Kanye criticised many American rappers for relying on foreign investors and lawyers to manage their careers instead of building sustainable businesses on their own.

“None of these n**s [rappers] are as smart as me. I can’t say for the tech dudes… But artists are dumb, bro. It’s like, they can’t even f*ing count, bro,” he stated bluntly.

The Donda hitmaker went further to challenge his fellow artists to create and sustain their own record labels and TV networks without depending on Jewish investors and legal teams.

“Go and ask them to run a whole record label without a Jewish person… Go and set up your whole TV network, make it run, no Jewish investor, let me see how that works,” he said.

Kanye, who has long positioned himself as a visionary entrepreneur, praised Nigerian creatives and business moguls for taking charge of their industries, citing them as examples of financial independence.

“Until motherf*ers can really get their stuff together like the Nigerians, the Chinese, the Jewish, or like the tech Indian or some st, everything I’m saying counts,” he added.

His comments have reignited discussions about financial literacy in the music industry, racial wealth gaps, and the dominance of Jewish financiers in Hollywood and the entertainment business.
