The International Men’s Day (IMD) is an annual event to celebrate men and boys.
It is a day to recognize men’s political, cultural and socio-economic accomplishments. This done in over 70 countries of the world.
The day was first celebrated by Dr Jerome Teelucksingh in 1999. Teelucksingh was a history lecturer at the University of West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago.
The day raises awareness about the contributions and, challenges that men face and acknowledges the positive value of men to the society.
Men are eminent pillars of the society and, they’re often less celebrated and, talked about.
We’re not just celebrating a gender today, it’s also a day to reflect on issues affecting men and boys worldwide as, this year’s theme is HELPING MEN & BOYS.
Celebrate every man in your corner today by telling them how they enhance your life.
