Dangote-backed Firm Buys Kenya’s Richest Tour Comapany

Africa Travel Investments, a tourism investment firm backed by Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man has officially acquired Kenya’s oldest and most iconic tour company, Pollman’s Tours and Safaris.

The landmark acquisition was recently approved unconditionally by the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK), giving Africa Travel the green light to purchase 100% of Pollman’s issued share capital.

The Dangote-backed Africa Travel now fully owns Pollman’s, a company that has been at the heart of Kenya’s safari and tourism landscape for decades.

Pollman’s Tours and Safaris, known for its deep legacy in delivering authentic Kenyan travel experiences, has long been a pillar in the nation’s hospitality and wildlife tourism sector. With this acquisition, industry observers believe a new era of innovation, investment, and pan-African expansion could be on the horizon, one that merges legacy with modern financial muscle.

This strategic move signals more than just a corporate buyout. It marks the growing footprint of African billionaires in shaping homegrown tourism infrastructure, as well as boosting intra-African investment.

With Dangote’s influence, resources, and track record of transforming industries, Pollman’s could soon become a continental leader in experiential travel and eco-tourism.

For Kenya’s tourism industry, this deal could usher in a fresh wave of growth, job creation, and enhanced travel experiences. For Africa Travel Investments, it reflects a long-term commitment to uplifting African-owned travel brands and building competitive tourism ventures rooted in the continent.
