Economic Empowerment at Its Best: WOWCares Initiative Impacts Surulere Community

On Thursday, December 12, 2024, Yinka Odeajo, a distinguished Media, PR, and Investor Relations Executive, launched the WOWCares initiative in Surulere Local Government, Lagos State. Powered by WOW Organization, a newly established NGO, the initiative is dedicated to breaking societal limitations and bridging the gap between potential and action for women and children.

The event, described as deeply fulfilling, provided economic palliatives and end-of-year gift items to underserved women and children in the community, spreading joy and renewed hope. Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude, applauding Odeajo’s generosity and vision.

Yinka Odeajo, whose formative years were spent in Surulere before relocating to the Republic of Ireland, emphasized his commitment to giving back to the community. His philanthropic spirit and dedication have positively impacted marginalized communities across Africa and the diaspora.

Hon. Bamidele Suleiman Yusuf, Executive Chairman of Surulere Local Government, commended the initiative, saying, “Many thanks to Mr. Yinka Odeajo and the WOWCares team for putting smiles on the faces of Surulere women. His selfless contributions set an example for others to follow.”

Dignitaries at the event included Prince Muiz Adewale Dosumu, Vice Chairman of Surulere Local Government; Mr. Kehinde Agoro, Secretary of the Local Government; and other local leaders. Together, they celebrated the event’s success, highlighting its transformative impact on economic and social empowerment in the community.

Odeajo’s legacy of leadership and philanthropy extends beyond Surulere. As the first Black male president of the Rotary Club of Crawley, he continues to champion change through WOW Organization’s core pillars: Leadership Development, Economic Empowerment, Advocacy & Awareness, and Networking & Collaboration.
