From humble beginnings in rural Gutu, Masvingo, Divine Ndhlukula carved a path to success that redefines leadership, resilience, and women’s empowerment in Zimbabwe. As the Founder and Managing Director of SECURICO, Zimbabwe’s first ISO-certified security company, and Zvikomborero Farms, renowned for goat production, Divine embodies entrepreneurial excellence and social impact.
Her journey began with a childhood dream to create generational wealth and jobs, a vision that took root while navigating a male-dominated industry. In 1998, she saw a glaring gap in the private security sector’s professionalism and service quality, sparking the creation of SECURICO in 1999. Starting from scratch, she defied societal norms and financial barriers to build a company that now employs over 4,000 people, a quarter of whom are women—a testament to her passion for gender equality.
Divine’s academic prowess, including an Executive MBA from Midlands State University and diplomas in Accounting and Marketing, equipped her to scale SECURICO into a $13 million enterprise. Her leadership excellence has earned numerous accolades, such as the Legatum Africa Award for Entrepreneurship and multiple “Entrepreneur of the Year” honors.
A vocal advocate for women’s empowerment, Divine has battled cultural stereotypes that limit women’s roles. By empowering women through employment and mentorship, she is changing narratives, proving that with education and opportunity, women can thrive in leadership and entrepreneurship.
Her legacy extends beyond business. Divine’s story inspires future generations, particularly in Zimbabwe, where societal perceptions are shifting. She believes that women, often the backbone of rural economies, will play a pivotal role in Africa’s development. Through her vision and relentless spirit, Divine Ndhlukula continues to redefine success and create lasting impact in Zimbabwe and beyond.
