Ayo Mario-Ese’s Dynamic Career in Media: The Epitome of Excellence and Empowerment

Ayo, the co-anchor of Arise News Channel’s premier show, The Morning Show, has made a remarkable impact in the media industry with her distinctive voice, captivating stage presence, and an impressive portfolio of interviews. A graduate of International Relations from Swansea University, UK, Ayo’s journey in media began in 2014 with Cool TV’s popular talk show, The Blog. Her ability to produce engaging content and connect with audiences quickly set her apart as a rising star.

As she progressed in her career, Ayo’s roles became increasingly prominent. She co-hosted the daily news and lifestyle program Hello Nigeria on WazobiaMax, and later, co-hosted the primetime Breakfast Show on 99.3 Nigeria Info FM, Morning Crossfire, a five-hour interactive show. Throughout her career, Ayo has had the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking conversations with national and international government officials, thought leaders, and captains of industry. Her notable interviews include CNN’s Richard Quest, Hollywood actor Eric Roberts, and international gospel artists Don Moen and Travis Greene.

Ayo’s commitment to excellence has earned her multiple awards, including The Future Awards Africa Prize for On Air Personality of the Year (Radio) in 2016, the ELOY Award for TV Presenter of the Year, and the 19ROM Awards for TV Presenter of the Year. In 2021, she was listed among YNaija’s Most Influential Media Personalities, and in 2023, she was named one of the top 25 most powerful women in journalism in Nigeria. Her accolades are a testament to her skill and dedication to the craft.

In addition to her television and radio work, Ayo has made a name for herself as an events compere and host. Her ability to command a stage has led her to host high-profile events like the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) Awards, the International Woman Leadership Conference (TIWLC) in Dubai, and the Annual UBA CEO Awards. Notably, she was one of the hosts of God’s Children’s Great Talent, a popular talent competition for children and young people in Nigeria.

Beyond her media career, Ayo is deeply passionate about empowering women. She has played a pivotal role in initiatives like the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) SheVentures program for women in business and serves on the board of WiCare Lekota Foundation, a non-profit for young widows.
