Queen Elizabeth II: World Bids Farewell

Until her death on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96, Elizabeth Alexandra Windsor, also known as Queen Elizabeth II, had ruled the United Kingdom for the longest period of time. To an estimated four billion viewers on Monday, the state funeral was live-streamed.

A crowd of about a million people gathered in and around the royal palaces in the heart of London, according to Sky News, to pay their last respects to Queen Elizabeth II.

Thousands of people crowded viewing sites to get a good glimpse of the historic event. Numerous mourners who had planned to attend the Queen’s official burial and procession were left stranded at Paddington station in London because there were no trains coming into or leaving the region.

Behind the coffin with the Queen were King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward. They were followed by other members of her family, Peter Phillips, Prince William, and Prince Harry.

Around 2,000 people, including royalty, politicians, world leaders, and members of the royal family, attended the funeral at Windsor Castle. The guest list was reduced to 800 for the committal service at St. George’s Chapel.
